Essential information about the spot before your arrival
The best spots and wind conditions in Tarifa
The prevailing winds in Tarifa are the Levante and the Poniente. The Levante is a warm, dry wind blowing from the east, with gusts of up to 100 km/h. It creates fairly flat sea conditions thanks to its side/side-off orientation. This wind blows all day long, offering plenty of opportunities for riders. Our favorite spot is Los Lances Beach (Chiringuito Agua), ideal for enjoying these conditions.
The Poniente is a cooler, side-on wind from the west. This wind is generally more moderate and stable, providing ideal conditions for water sports. It strengthens as the afternoon progresses, creating perfect times to enjoy the spots. We use the Punta Paloma spot (Chiringuito Volare) to benefit from flat water and maximize our experience throughout the afternoon. These exceptional wind conditions make Tarifa one of the best spots in the world for water sports!

Are you already independent and want to explore new spots?
Although Tarifa is windy most of the time, you can explore other spots on calm days or simply if you want to discover the region. Please note that we do not offer lessons at these spots, as they do not have safety boats like Tarifa. Furthermore, their conditions make learning kitesurfing less suitable.
