The natural environment and climate of Tarifa

Between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean Sea!

The natural environment and climate of Tarifa

Located at the southernmost tip of Andalusia, Tarifa and its surroundings are a true paradise for kiteboarding enthusiasts. This exceptional spot, influenced by the prevailing winds (Poniente and Levante), offers not only breathtaking landscapes but also a rich cultural, social, and leisure life, as well as incomparable sailing conditions.

At the border between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, Tarifa boasts over 10 km of beaches facing the Moroccan coast. This world-renowned spot, with more than 300 days of wind annually and sunny weather, is the perfect place to start and progress in kiteboarding.

Beyond its famous beaches, Tarifa and its natural park offer a multitude of outdoor activities, whether on foot or by bike. Its historical and cultural heritage, with Roman ruins in Bolonia, the typical village of Vejer de la Frontera, or the narrow streets of old Tarifa, invites exploration. Wave lovers will also enjoy spots like El Palmar and Conil, which offer a different but equally pleasant style of surfing compared to Tarifa.

You can choose to visit this lively destination during the summer or opt for the tranquility of the city and its beaches in the spring and autumn!

Easy access

The main airports are Malaga (150 km) and Seville (200 km), but you can also reach Gibraltar (45 km from the UK) or Jerez de la Frontera (110 km, mainly from Germany).

For a complete experience, we recommend renting a vehicle (very affordable) to explore Tarifa and its surroundings freely. Bus routes or carpooling (Blablacar) are also available for transfers from the airports.
